I am all for the advancement and the evolution of the imagination of kids. so much curiosity and imagination is destined to get swept away from them as they delve into the education system; it’s quite sad and unfortunate. So I think this is an awesome tool to implement.

  3. My 4-year-old son began swiping on my cell phone just before he turned 1. After several months of having to reset my phone and clean it up behind his tiny fingers, I set up one of my old phones for him.

I added games and such that were age-appropriate and locked him out of anything that was too advanced or forbidden.

When he turned 2 I bought his first tablet. Since then, he is learning his letter and numbers, how to navigate his apps and even cast his videos to my television.

I bought him a few educational games and he plays them on his own and with me every day.

Technology has allowed my child to learn his colors and shapes without suffering the anxiety of premature separation caused by preschool.

He will be 5 in November and I think we will both be ready for Kindergarten by then. He already calls his time on his tablet *school* so it should not be too difficult for him to make the transition.

Thank you for the information. I will be shopping for Leapfrog items. I have used VTech in the past because of the cost difference, but he may be ready for Leapfrogs now.

  4. This is some good advice. Many years ago I never would have imagined that it’d be recommended for kids to use electronics to learn; Electronics like phones and what not. iPads and tablets weren’t even out when I was younger and into early adulthood, so it’s amazing to see how times have changed.

  5. Hey Jack,

I appreciate your deep observation on the behavior of children and the ways that can make learning easier. In my opinion, learning with smart gadgets and software is easier and more effective than conventional ways. Because children get attached to it very easily and learn by themselves with fun. But how can we protect our children from getting used to the gadgets and spend their time in vain?

I will be looking forward to this kind of articles from you. Thank you very much.
